There's something really beautiful about looking outside of an airplane window and seeing this. I can't tell you how at peace I felt. It was as though God was smiling and only my heart could feel it.

But... let's fast forward a bit, shall we?

My first impression of New York. I was inlove and we hadn't even touched down yet!

Let me start by saying these pictures do NO JUSTICE to New York City. With that being said, these are not all the pictures. These are cell phone pictures that my shaky and excited hands captured in between taking pictures with my actual camera.

This trip was such a blur. I would love to brag about all the fun and exciting places that we got to see, but I honestly can't. For the time frame that I was actually there, I doubt it would have been possible to fully take in the city. Aside from New York, we took a road trip to Philly and Washington D.C. Those pics I will share another time.

What I can say about New York is that it truly never sleeps. People aren't as rude or scary as everyone will lead you to believe. The hot dogs and pizza aren't any better there than here in Houston and they truly have a love affair with Dunken Donuts. LOL

I think I saw just enough of the city to leave me craving for more. New York has always been one of those cities that I've wanted to visit and I feel so fortunate to have been able to do so. I can't wait to go back and really explore! The next time I'm able, I promise to do things differently and that includes bringing a more comfortable pair of walking shoes! Lol.

Like I said, I know these pictures aren't much, but I hope you enjoy!

BuzzfestXXX has come and gone, and all that remains now are the memories. And what memories they are! Words will never convey how fucking awesome that show was. I knew I loved Shinedown before, but O-M-G I had no idea they would rock my fucking socks off!!!!

The concert couldn't have had a better lineup. The weather couldn't have been more beautiful. Houston couldn't have been more enthusiastic. The concert gods certainly smiled down on that day!

The pictures are in no particular order. Well, I take that back. I purposely saved the pic of Brent Smith from Shinedown for last. He was just too beautiful not to. I'm hopelessly smitten.

If you guys EVER have the opportunity to see any of the bands perform live, please do yourself a favor and do so. The music is so much richer in person. The lyrics scream out and grab your heart like no radio or stereo could ever do. It's something about seeing a band perform their songs live that make you understand why you fell inlove with them in the first place. Trust me.

Admittedly, we got to the concert after it had already started, so the pictures you're seeing are partly of the Sick Puppies, Papa Roach, Stone Sour, Bush and of course, Shinedown.

Enjoy!

Ok, so last weekend I participated in a photoshoot by the amazing Angela of 4FORTY4 Photography. I can't tell you how much fun I had. She's still in the process of editing, but she did offer me 2 sneak peak photos.

I know I look mad in both, but I am still learning! Lol, I have a long way to go, but it's something that I love and hopefully will be able to continue doing.

I HIGHLY recommend shooting with Angela. She is an absolute dream! I'm a shy person by nature, so to have a woman shoot me and know how to capture a plus size body kind of takes the pressure off me. Plus, by me being in the learning stages, she can offer great direction. She by no means is only a plus size photographer, but I think it's important to know that she can shoot a plus size body. :)

She's going to be touring the state and country soon, even making a weekend appearance in Germany (!), so definitely check her out.

Currently inlove with this ASOS Curve Leather Biker Jacket! I have been searching high and low for this style of jacket and I have finally found it. Tonight I'm going to try and convince the bf that I need this jacket in my closet!

I am dead tired. These past few days we've been doing a bit of "Spring Cleaning" and I got to tell you that I think we're Hoarders.

Although, I must admit I think we're more of the comfortable "you have a lot of stuff tucked away in random places" type of people than the pile on "I can't sit, eat, walk, or breathe" type- not that there's much of a difference. At the end of the day clutter is clutter and I've had a hell of a time picking up shit and throwing it away.

The good news is we don't have food containers from 10 years ago rotting away in corners waiting to be discovered as some cure for a rare and practically unknown disease. There won't be any dead bodies found under piles and piles of long forgotten clothes. No, we're more civilized than that. Lol. Our junk was once fond memories. The type of stuff that pack rats like us find hard to throw away; baby clothes, old school books, heinously outdated shoes...

The funny thing is when you "collect" so much stuff you never truly realize how much of a problem it is until it needs to be moved or thrown away. I honestly didn't think our house could contain so much random junk. And I guess because I lived in it for so long, I didn't even really notice the clutter as a problem. Of course, my brother in law threatening to submit our house as a potential feature on the show Hoarders should have tipped me off, but it didn't- until now.

I realize that it's not good for our health to keep so much stuff packed into corners, drawers or cabinets and just have them there collecting dust. How much more beneficial to someone else could all those clothes be to someone who truly needs them?

So if you or anyone you know is gonna do a little Spring Cleaning, consider donating to your goods to one of your local charities. There are plenty of people who could use your unwanted treasures.

01 April 2013

This weekend we celebrated both my dads birthday and Easter. It felt so good to have all my sisters and their families over to enjoy the weekend. I can't even remember the last time we were all under one roof. Of course, with everyone over, there was plenty of kids screaming (why must they all play with the same toy?), but I didn't mind. I was happy to spend time with the fam.

Whether you had everyone over or just spent some time by yourself, I hope whatever you chose to do this weekend was a blast! As always, the weekend was too short, but we gotta make the best out of the time we're given. Wishing you all a wonderful week!
